Concert – 120 years from the birth of Boris Papandopulo

Boris Papandopulo (1906–1991) was a prolific Croatian composer and conductor of Greek and Russian Jewish descent. The son of noble Konstantin Papandopulo and opera star Maja Strozzi-Pečić, he became a dominant figure in 20th-century music.

Though he worked as a journalist, critic, and pianist, his primary legacy is an “imposing” catalogue of roughly 460 works. His diverse output spans orchestral, chamber, vocal, and film music, and he is widely celebrated for creating numerous “anthology-piece” compositions of high artistic merit.
