Kries is a Croatian ethno band formed in 2002 by the founder and former frontman of the legendary group LEGEN. The band takes its name from the traditional Slavic bonfire ritual “kries,” celebrated between St. George’s Day and Midsummer. Drawing inspiration from traditional melodies and lyrics, Slavic mythology, and both Dinaric and Mediterranean rhythms, Kries creates a powerful fusion of heritage and contemporary sound. On July 25th, they’ll be joined on the Orsula stage by the Georgian ensemble Trio Mandili, whose performances have already charmed audiences across Europe. Known for their polyphonic singing accompanied by the traditional string instrument panduri, Trio Mandili rose to fame with a viral video of the Georgian folk song Apareka. The trio—Tako Tsiklauri, Tatuli Mgeladze, and Mariam Kurasbediani—sing in multiple languages including Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian, and Russian, bringing a fresh and vibrant sound to the Dubrovnik stage.
