Concert: Ibrica Jusić – From Shakespeare to Sevdah

The iconic Dubrovnik chansonnier Ibrica Jusić, who left an unforgettable impression on the Dubrovnik Summer Festival with his late-night serenades and guitar performances, will present a show called From Shakespeare to Sevdah and in the festival’s milestone edition commemorate his own significant milestones – six decades of artistic endeavours and over half a century at the Festival. Jusić was raised in Dubrovnik, where he launched his prolific career in 1965 performing on the Dominican Monastery steps, a location that proved pivotal for his calling. At composer Pero Gotovac’s invitation, he relocated to Zagreb and later Paris, where he graced the most esteemed cabarets. Nonetheless, each summer, he consistently returned to his hometown and his steps, where he delivered his customary midnight concerts for the devoted locals.
