Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra & Tibor Bogányi, Conductor
Conductor Tibor Bogányi garnered global recognition in 2002 when he assumed the position of principal conductor for the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra at the remarkably young age of 28. An enchanting presence on the concert stage, Bogányi is renowned for his versatile and masterful interpretations. He showcases his exceptional conducting skills by leading prominent orchestras and opera companies worldwide.
Born in Hungary, Bogányi initially pursued studies in cello before being accepted into the renowned Sibelius Academy’s conducting class in Finland. There, he received guidance from esteemed mentors Jorma Panula and Leif Segerstam. Throughout his time at the academy, he also had the opportunity to study under János Fürst as a guest student at the CNSM conservatoire de Paris. As part of his dissertation, Bogányi conducted the world premiere of Sallinen’s ballet “Hobbit” at the Finnish Opera House.
In addition to his work as a conductor, Bogányi has showcased his talent as a cellist, captivating audiences with his performances in recitals across the globe.
