Conductor Borjan Canev is one of North Macedonia’s most sought-after musical figures. Over a 20-season tenure as Principal Conductor of the North Macedonian Philharmonic, he significantly elevated the orchestra’s international standing while recently debuting with the Krakow, North Czech, and Sofia Philharmonics.

A decorated artist, Maestro Canev won the “Virtuosi” (2014) and “Georgi Bozhikov” (2010) awards. He balances his active international performing career with education, mentoring the next generation of musicians as a professor of conducting.
