Green Velvet launched the Relief label with its first release, “Preacher Man.” He quickly followed it up with “Flash” and “The Stalker,” both of which earned him unexpected acclaim and international recognition.
In 1997, Green Velvet fused 80s electronic funk with Chicago’s obsession for the perfect track to create “Answering Machine,” known for its humorous yet catchy hook: “I don’t need this shit!” By 1999, he released Constant Chaos—an electronic journey through lyrical terrain. As he described in a Muzik interview, “I guess it’s sorta like folk music for the rave scene.”
