Festivity of St. Blaise

Festivity of St. Blaise is the most important event one can experience in Dubrovnik, which is why it was made part of UNESCO’s intangible heritage. St. Blaise, the patron of the city, has been celebrated on February 3^rd since the year 972, and the celebration, which starts on February 2^nd on the day of Lady of Candelora, is spectacular! The city is visited by thousands of people from all over the county, many of which wear their traditional folk costumes, who all come to pay their respect to the patron of Dubrovnik, walking in the long procession and partaking in religious traditions that are a main part of this festivity.
