Orsula Summer Festival: Tonči Huljić & Madre Badessa

Tonči Huljić & Madre Badessa Band is a Croatian pop/ethno group, a collaborative project by Tonči and Vjekoslava Huljić along with Goran Bregović, formed in early 2011. The band made their debut during the final show of Dora 2011, performing songs like “Anarkišta” (featuring Goran Bregović), “Ka hashish,” and “Amerika.” Tonči Huljić composes the music, Vjekoslava Huljić writes the lyrics, and Goran Bregović handles the arrangements and production. Their songs are sung in the old dialect of Split’s Velo Varoš neighborhood. The last weekend of August promises a true pop treat.
