English DJ, music producer, remix artist, and record label founder Paul Oakenfold is undeniably one of the most influential figures in dance music history, having contributed more to the genre’s popularity than any other individual. He pioneered the introduction of house music to British club-goers in the late 1980s, then brought the genre into the mainstream, orchestrating dance-oriented productions and remixes for rock and pop acts like Happy Mondays and U2. Additionally, he established the highly successful dance music label Perfecto Records, and held renowned residencies at two of the UK’s most iconic superclubs ever, Ministry of Sound and Cream.
